What Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was originally developed to treat symptoms of depression and anxiety. CBT operates under the belief that it is not events by themselves that disturb us but the meaning that we assign to them. Through a life time of experiences we all develop habits of mind which influence our thoughts, mood and behavior. These can contribute to depression and anxiety and can also be harnessed to create skillful ways to cope with these difficulties.
